We have selected a group of individuals to represent Alliance in this year’s Gothia Cup which will be held on July 14th – 20th in Gothenburg, Sweden. Gothia Cup is the world’s largest and most international youth football tournament – it is considered The Youth World Cup.
Each year, around 1,700 teams from 80 nations take part, and they approximately play 4,500 matches on 110 pitches. It is the teams and their participants from around the world that make this tournament a unique experience. A meeting place for the world’s youth, irrespective of religion, skin color or nationality, with football as the common denominator.
With the remaining months ahead of us until their departure to Gothia, the coaching staff and these players will continue to work hard in training, fitness, nutrition and stamina as these are vital components that will be required at a high-level to compete and succeed within the tournament.
Alliance previously participated in the U14s category in 2017 where the team reached the knock out stages but lost in penalties to a team from Ethiopia.
